Parental resources
Here at Shenley Brook End school, we value the support we receive from our parent/carer community and understand raising teenagers can be a challenging role. Hormone changes, peer pressure, heightened emotions, and mood swings can be difficult to navigate.
Adolescents naturally gravitate towards certain behaviours, so it's good to remember:
- Conflict is normal.
- Give clear guidelines.
- Listen to and respect their views.
- Show an interest in what your teenager enjoys at home and at school.
- Spend time together.
- Make time for talking and listening.
- Give them space.
- Encourage them.
Below you can find resources and advice on safeguarding, mental health, sleep problems, online safety, anxiety and more.
New topics are added regularly and we hope you find this resource useful.
